Tucked into Beverly Hills, this storied boutique hotel for mid-century stars like Marilyn and Desi has long been the getaway from the L.A. scene. Avalon found a second life–and its current name–when we re-imagined it as an 84-room boutique hotel in 1999. Immersed in high design and situated around a boomerang-shaped pool, patio, and jewelbox Viviane restaurant and bar, you’ll find a sincere kind of glamour: We think dining al fresco calls for a cool glass of champagne. We value the privacy of a home away from home and care that you’re well, and fed, and have endless supply of fluffy white towels. So dive in. It’s easy living. Welcome back.
The design of our guest rooms & suites plays upon California color, pattern and light. Putting minds at ease are the serene blues and neutrals, soulful furnishings and carefully curated amenities.
Here at our poolside jewelbox, dishes as simple as grilled wild-caught fish and as decadent as housemade pastas speak to us. So do crafted cocktails. In this land of perennial sunshine, Chef Michael Reed can’t help but dive into our fresh supply of colorful produce to revive the classic American and European cuisine we love with a lighter touch.
In 1999, we transformed a forgotten architectural gem on a quiet corner of Beverly Hills into an exciting boutique hotel we called Avalon. Our very first property sparked two decades in hospitality and design, including our sister resort in the magical desert of Palm Springs.
Avalon flows with what we adore about creating, running, and staying in small luxury hotels. Both share fresh perspectives on mid-century revival and modern design. Both are comfortable with the paradox of friendly glamour…of a hideaway right here and now.
