Gorgeously manicured but not overly fussy. Seclusion, naturally. That’s our new-fashioned desert hideaway tucked into the design scene of old downtown. At the iconic Avalon Hotel & Bungalows Palm Springs, the eclectic range of 67 Spanish-style lodgings, including romantic studios and 13 private villas follow in storied footsteps with deep residential comforts and 3 pools to do your thing. Flit away the afternoon in a cabana, at the spa, by the fireplace. It’s magical at all hours. All you have to do is stay.
It’s no secret why Avalon’s historic Spanish-kissed studios, suites and bungalows have been a Hollywood playground since the 1930s. Surrounded by fragrant citrus, lush gardens and secluded pools, our lodgings channel an ineffable romance with all their sun terraces and fireplaces and plush beds alike. (We’re also attuned to the reality that you may never want to leave.)
Our property features three refreshing dips, each with their own distinct character. Our pool servers are at your beck and call for al fresco food and drink, and we wouldn’t forget the endless supply of plush white towels and infused waters. Find a comfy lounger or cabana and post up.
We love California restaurants. And there’s something to be said for a go-to destination–one led by a serious chef–where ordering your “usual” gets a nod of recognition. At Chi Chi restaurant, Jason Moffitt’s fresh, balanced California menu matches your dezzy mood, be it health or indulgence or somewhere in between. Here, we add rum to our coconuts. That’s simply how we lunch.
Our lovely getaway was originally known as the Estrella Inn (“star” in Spanish). Fittingly, Estrella Spa is the star that illuminates Avalon from the inside out: our caring core of health and wellness experience. In this quiet retreat for indulgence, play, learning, growth and comfort, our menu shines this season with new treatments and custom experiences for you.
In 1999, we transformed a forgotten architectural gem on a quiet corner of Beverly Hills into an exciting boutique hotel we called Avalon. Our very first property sparked two decades in hospitality and design, including our sister resort in the magical desert of Palm Springs.
Avalon flows with what we adore about creating, running, and staying in small luxury hotels. Both share fresh perspectives on mid-century revival and modern design. Both are comfortable with the paradox of friendly glamour…of a hideaway right here and now.
